Information & Conditions of Competition

Venue: The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club, Academy Course.
Championship Date: Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th October 2023.
Championship Format: Individual 36-hole Gross Strokeplay (Males & Females are combined).

Championship Eligibility: Open to any registered Amateur Male Golfers with a handicap of 15.0 and below. Also, for Female Golfers with a registered & updated handicap of 22.0 & below. Please note, CWB Members shall receive priority entry.

Local Rules: Information will be given on the day regarding R&A rules & local rules.

Championship Field Size: Maximum 72 x competitors.

Championship Entries: If the event is oversubscribed the Tournament Committee will have discretion to under-take a ballot in order to determine the final places in the field. Priority will be given to lower handicaps. Please note the entry deadline is Monday 9th October 2023.

Visitors Entry Fee: $1,150 which includes a $200 Breakfast or Lunch Voucher (both days if you make cut and must be paid by credit card, as per the above details).

Members Entry Fee: $450 which includes a $200 Breakfast or Lunch Voucher (both days if you make cut). Members will be charged via their Club account.

Non-Members Parking: If any parking is required, this will be complimentary. However, non- members are requested to provide their car-plate number, in order to allow for security clearance.

Washrooms & Lockers: All players are permitted to obtain a locker-key for the days play. Please note, this area is located at the lower level of the Clubhouse, near the Sports Counter (above the Outdoor Tennis Courts).

CWB Members Practice Round: Anytime & free of charge.
Non-Members Practice Round: There will be an option for competitors to play a practice round on the following days:

  • Monday 9th October 2023

  • Tuesday (afternoon) 10th October 2023

  • Wednesday 11th October 2023

  • Thursday 12th October 2023

  • Friday 13th October 2023

    Registration: All players shall check-in at the Tournament Registration, located on the Lower Lobby of the Country Club. Also, all participants are expected to be at their respective Tee’s at least 10-minutes before their designated shotgun. Also, there will be a briefing at the Academy Lawn 15-minutes before every shotgun start. Please kindly attend, in order to be up-to-speed with all current local rules & information.

Warm-Up Nets & Practice Putting Greens: Participants are permitted to warm-up at the Country Club golf nets situated up-and-across from the 1st Tee. Additionally, there are two practice greens located below the 1st Tee that are designated for short game warm-up.

Distance Measuring Devices (DMD’s): All DMD’s are permitted during the Championship & can be switched on to any level, including measuring elevation changes.

Caddies & Golf Carts: The event does allow caddies & please note, the Club has 24 x complimentary pull-buggies (players are not permitted to bring their own pull-buggies). Also, Golf Carts can be easily booked via 2335-3878 & are reserved as a first-come, first served basis.

Scoring System: The Golf Genius scoring system (no hard-copy scoring) is in place for the entire event.

Tee Allocation: Gold, Silver & Bronze (to be played in that order both days).

Shotgun Tee-Times:

  • Day 1: Saturday 14th October 2023 (8:00am, 11:15am & 2:30pm); and

  • Day 2: Sunday 15th October 2023 (10:00am).

    Tournament Cut (24-players only & seeded draw – leaders tee-off from hole #1):

  • Top 12 x Male 18-hole scores; and

  • Top 12 x Female 18-hole scores.

    Tournament Tie(s): If need be, a count-back shall decide any tied positions to determine the cut- line. Which will be from the last 6-holes. If still a tie, middle 6-holes, then first 6-holes. (please note, the count-back is taken from holes #13 to #18 on the actual scorecard, not from the last 6-holes you may have played via your shotgun starting hole position).

    Also, if the ratio of Male to Female golfers is heavily one-sided. The Tournament Director may amend the 12 x Male & 12 Female cut line. E.g. 17 x Male to 7 x Females (or vice a versa).

    In the event of a tie for the actual tournament, a playoff will be conducted on hole #6. If after two play-off holes, a tie has not decided a winner, there shall be an NTP from the Academy Lawn to #6-Green.

    All other decisions regarding place positions, shall be conducted by a count-back from the final 18- holes. Which will be from the last 6-holes. If still a tie, middle 6-holes, then first 6-holes. If still undecided, hole-by-hole (please note, the count-back is taken from holes #13 to #18 on the actual scorecard, not from the last 6-holes you may have played via your shotgun starting hole position).

    Prizes:

  • 1st Place Open Gross Champion (Male or Female)

  • 2nd Place Open Gross (Male or Female)

  • 3rd Place Open Gross (Male or Female)

  • 4th Place Open Gross (Male or Female)

  • 5th Place Open Gross (Male or Female)

  • 6th Place Open Gross (Male or Female).

Please note & under no circumstances are competitors (unless CWBG&CC Members) permitted to warm-up at the Golf Club location. If a Non-Member participant is found in breach, they will be disqualified from the

Hole-in-One Prize(s) & NTP’s: There shall be a Hole-in-One Prize(s) to be awarded on any hole over the two-day event. Additionally, there will be Day 1 & 2 NTP competitions on offer at holes #3 & #6. Please note, each golfer has 3 x opportunities to win, when you play each 6-hole loop.

Shot Clock & Speed of Play: A timing device on #3, #12 & #15 holes will be in place on both days & any group taking more that 9-minutes to play these particular holes will be penalised 2-strokes per player. Additionally, all players are expected to finish each loop of 6-holes within 55-minutes and penalty shots may be assessed to the entire group, if the Tournament Director believes players have breached any slow play guidelines.

Food & Beverages: All participants shall receive a $200 F&B voucher, which will be available only at the Academy Lawn. Please note, additional top-ups are available to purchase & all players are encouraged to enjoy the live music, entertainment & putting competitions. Please note, members may use their regular accounts for any purchases that are made over the two-day event.

Presentation: The prize ceremony will be conducted on Sunday 15th October at the Academy Lawn within 30-minutes after all scores are returned, accepted & finalized. The winner shall then be declared “The Asian Par-3 Golf Champion 2023”.

Final Words: The Asian Par-3 Golf Championships Mission Statement is to captivate advanced golfers (gross stroke play only & combined gender) the imagination of present & future golfers, by delivering added entertainment in a relaxed & fun atmosphere. Additionally, all players, caddies & spectators are encouraged to make some noise & not be tied to the traditional principles of the game. In other words, this is a fun, noisy & energetic format of the future.
