The Asian Par-3 Golf Championship 2023 is set to showcase the skills of talented amateur golfers in a two-day tournament held at the prestigious Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club in Hong Kong. With a focus on providing thrilling entertainment in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, this tournament offers a unique experience to participants and spectators alike. Championship Format and Eligibility

The tournament will feature a 36-hole Gross Strokeplay format, where male and female golfers compete together. The championship is open to registered amateur male golfers with a handicap of 15.0 and below, as well as female golfers with a handicap of 22.0 and below. Priority entry is given to Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club members, ensuring their participation in the event.

Competition Details and Logistics

The tournament field is limited to a maximum of 72 competitors, and in the event of oversubscription, a ballot will be conducted to determine the final places. Lower handicaps will receive priority consideration. The entry deadline for the championship is set for Monday, October 9th, 2023.

Participants have the option to register as visitors or club members. Visitors are required to pay an entry fee of $1,150, which includes a $200 Breakfast or Lunch Voucher for both days. Club members, on the other hand, pay an entry fee of $450, also including a $200 voucher. Non-members requiring parking must provide their car plate number for security clearance.

Practice rounds are available for both CWB members and non-members, with the former enjoying complimentary access. Non-members can schedule practice rounds on specific days leading up to the tournament by contacting the club.

On the days of the championship, participants are expected to check-in at the Tournament Registration and arrive at their designated tees at least 10 minutes before their shotgun start. Briefings will be conducted to ensure everyone is up-to-date with local rules and information.

Competition Rules and Facilities

The tournament adheres to the R&A rules and local rules that will be explained to participants during the event. Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs) are permitted, allowing players to measure distances and elevation changes. Caddies are allowed, and the club provides complimentary pull-buggies for players' use. Golf carts can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scoring will be done using the Golf Genius system, eliminating the need for hard-copy scoring. Tee allocations are categorized as Gold, Silver, and Bronze, to be played in that order on both days.

The tournament cut will consist of the top 24 players (12 male and top 12 female) 18-hole scores. In case of a tie, a count-back procedure will be followed to determine the cut-line. The playoff format will be used to decide the tournament winner, with a hole-in-one prize available for any participant achieving this remarkable feat.

The top six gross scores in the open category, regardless of gender, will receive recognition.
