The AJGA Spin Junior Championship Qualifying Tournament: A Gateway to Golfing Excellence

The new year has ushered in a thrilling opportunity for junior golfers in the Greater China region. The second edition of the AJGA Spin Junior Championship , proudly supported by The Spin Club, is here, and registration is officially open for its qualifying tournament. This event serves as a gateway for young athletes to compete for coveted wild cards to the prestigious 2025 AJGA Spin Junior Championship in Northern California, along with other exciting rewards.

If you’re an aspiring golfer aged between 12 and 19, this is your chance to shine on a global stage. Below, we break down everything you need to know about this exciting tournament.

Tournament Overview

The qualifying tournament will take place at the Zhuhai International Golf Club on May 3rd - 4th, 2025 , featuring two rounds of 18-hole stroke play events. A total of 60 male and female players will compete for top honors, with the champions earning direct entry into the 2025 AJGA Spin Junior Championship. Additionally, all participants will have the opportunity to earn authoritative JGS points, as this is a JGS-certified event.

  • Wild Cards : The male and female champions will receive direct entry into the 2025 AJGA Spin Junior Championship in Northern California.

  • Rewards for Top Performers : The top three male and female players will also receive special prizes.

  • JGS Points : All participants can earn valuable JGS points, which are crucial for advancing their golfing careers.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the qualifying tournament, players must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be aged between 12 and 19 years old and not yet enrolled in university.

  2. Have a handicap index of 10 or lower .

  3. Plan to participate in junior golf competitions in the United States during the summer of 2025.

  4. Aspire to enter a U.S. university through golf.

Registration Details

  • Registration Deadline : April 16th, 2025, at 18:00.

  • Registration Fee : RMB 1,200 (includes course fees, souvenirs & access to the Junior Future Planning Sharing Session).

Fee Reductions/Exemptions :

  1. Free Entry :

    • Top 15 male and top 10 female players in the CGA HSBC Junior Golf Championship's Group A ranking (as of April 15th, 2025).

    • Male and female champions of individual events in the Hong Kong HSBC Junior Golf Series (2024 and 2025 seasons).
      Note: Players with AJGA full card qualifications are not eligible.

  2. Reduced Fee (RMB 600) :

    • Top 30 male and female players in the CGA HSBC Junior Golf Championship's Group A ranking (as of April 15th, 2025).
      Note: Players with AJGA full card qualifications are not eligible.

Important Notes

  • The Spin Sports Education Foundation reserves the right to accept or reject registrations, and their decision is final.

  • If registrations exceed the quota, priority will be given to players with lower handicap indexes. Previous competition results may also be considered.

  • Withdrawals before the registration deadline incur no penalty. After the deadline, the registration fee is non-refundable.

  • False statements on the registration form may lead to disqualification.

  • Friday, May 2nd, 2025 :
    13:00 - 18:00: Player check-in

  • Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 :
    07:00 - 13:00: First round of competition
    14:00: Sharing Session – "The Future Development Path of Junior Golfers"

  • Sunday, May 4th, 2025 :
    07:00 - 13:00: Second round of competition
    14:00: Awards Ceremony

Catering & Accommodation

  • Catering : Energy bars, bananas, and water will be provided during the competition. Other catering expenses are the responsibility of the players.

  • Accommodation : Players must arrange and pay for their own hotel accommodations.

In 2024, Jingheng Yan , a player who received an exemption to participate in the first AJGA Spin Junior Championship Qualifying Tournament, achieved an outstanding third-place finish in his first AJGA Open. This remarkable performance earned him an AJGA full card for 2025, showcasing the incredible opportunities this tournament can provide.
