Teeing Up A Wynn: The International Series Returns to Macau in March 2025

The world’s best golfers will return to the Greater Bay Area in 2025 with confirmation that the second edition of international Series Macau presented by Wynn will take place at Macau Golf & Country Club from 20-23 March as part of a stellar calendar on The International Series that aligns with the LIV Golf League.

The high-profile event has been announced as the second date on a 10-tournament schedule that breaks new ground and consolidates key markets, further cementing the key position occupied by The International Series in the global golf ecosystem.

The tournament made its debut on the schedule in March this year, with LIV Golf alternate John Catlin shooting an incredible 59 on his way to a victory, and the American confirmed he will be back to defend his title next year in a special visit to Wynn Palace, the luxury integrated resort, to announce next year’s fixture.

International Series Macau presented by Wynn offers a prize purse of US$2 million and a pathway onto the LIV Golf League for the end-of-season rankings champion.

Aligning with an overarching LIV Golf League schedule, next year’s event follows directly from a double-header in Asia, after LIV Golf Hong Kong (7-9 March) and LIV Golf Singapore (14-16) March, completing three weeks of high-quality, compelling golf for the region.

Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau Limited, said: “We are proud to once again sponsor International Series Macau presented by Wynn, another elevated elite-tier sporting event and entertainment offering for the region.

“This significant investment underlines our commitment to supporting the Macao SAR Government’s ‘1+4’ diversification development strategy, growing the sports industry, strengthening the city’s position as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure and ensuring Macau remains a premier destination for golf enthusiasts for years to come.”

International Series Macau presented by Wynn is part of a new-look schedule that has been carefully curated to align with the LIV Golf League schedule. The fourth season will include five new destinations and a return to five established markets.

The season gets underway with a bang at International Series India presented by DLF (30 January – 02 February), a new addition to the calendar.

The calendar then heads east to Macau in March, and the series will also return to established markets with International Series Morocco (03-06 July), the BNI Indonesian Masters (28-31 August) and Link Hong Kong Open (30 Oct – 02 November)The $US5 million season-ending PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers is also on the schedule with a date still to be confirmed.

Amidst genuine interest from potential host destinations in a wide variety of markets, the dates of the remaining four tournaments have also been released, and anticipation is building over the locations which will chart new territory for The International Series.

Rahul Singh, Head of The International Series, said: “Following the tremendous success of the inaugural event, we are thrilled to bring The International Series back to Macau – a pivotal market for us and an integral stop on the season’s calendar which brings our brand of world-class golf to new territories and some of our favourite destinations.

“We welcome the chance to bring a world-class field to this important market, it is a testament to our partnership with Wynn and our shared vision of creating world-class experiences and fostering the growth in the sport throughout the region.”

Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO of the Asian Tour, said: “We are once again thrilled to be back in Macau, a destination that has long been an integral part of the Asian Tour’s history. Our return as part of The International Series underscores the remarkable growth and evolution of the Tour, as we continue to elevate the standard of golf across the region.

“We know that it is a destination that the players love, and it is a welcome addition to the calendar for the 2025 season.”

The tournament will once again host a field of stars from the LIV Golf League and the Asian Tour. In this year’s tournament, Catlin emerged victorious from a nail-biting play-off with Spaniard David Puig of Fireballs GC. The pair both made headlines with Puig hitting back with a final-round 60 to force the play-off after Catlin’s incredible 59.

Catlin said, “I have incredibly fond memories of the event in March – it was a pivotal moment in my season. The tournament set the tone for a strong run of form, and I went on to capture the title at the Saudi Open presented by PIF the following month.

“Returning to Wynn Palace and the Macau Golf and Country Club, is something I am really looking forward to, as I have such special memories of my time there. Hopefully, I can build on that success and put myself in a position to defend my title.”
