Andreas Ma’s Dream Day at LIV Golf Hong Kong Inspires Resilience and Passion

HONG KONG (7 March 2025) – For Andreas Ma, a 14-year-old Hong Kong junior golfer born without a left hand, a lifelong dream unfolded at the LIV Golf Hong Kong event. Amidst top global golfers competing at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling, Andreas met his idol, Bryson DeChambeau, received coaching from LIV Golf’s Chieh-Po Lee, and showcased his unwavering determination, inspiring fans and pros alike.

Andreas, who adapts his swing by using his left arm to stabilize his club, shared how golf has shaped his outlook: “It taught me to persevere, focus on the present, and not overcomplicate things.” His creativity and grit have earned admiration in the golf community, proving that limitations can fuel innovation.

During a practice session, Taiwanese LIV Golf Wild Card player Chieh-Po Lee mentored Andreas, offering tips to refine his technique. “I showed him how to control the ball and hit higher shots for more distance,” Lee explained. Andreas eagerly applied the advice, mastering a higher trajectory with his seven-iron and driver. “Now I can officially do it!” he exclaimed, grinning.

The day’s highlight came when Andreas met DeChambeau, whose YouTube tutorials he avidly follows. The pair chatted on the driving range, with DeChambeau signing autographs and sharing encouragement. Andreas also connected with major champion Brooks Koepka and Hong Kong’s rising star Taichi Kho. “Meeting them was incredible—they’re legends!” Andreas said, beaming.

LIV Golf Hong Kong, running from March 7–9, features top teams like Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, defending their title, and Abraham Ancer’s Fireballs GC. The event underscores golf’s inclusive spirit, celebrating athletes like Andreas who redefine perseverance.

As the tournament lights up Hong Kong, Andreas’ story resonates beyond the course—a testament to passion overcoming adversity. For tickets and updates, visit LIVGolf.com.
